Is red lipstick an accessory?

I guess I am in to repurposing dresses as skirts these days.  When I say repurposing, I don't mean there is any sewing involved- I'm not that talented- I mean, I stuffed the top part of the dress down and zipped it up and put a shirt on.  That is the only repurposing I know how to do.  This dress is actually my bridesmaid dress from Whitney's wedding.
Don't they say you can always shorten bridesmaid dresses and make them cocktail dresses?  How about lengthening them and making them skirts?

Shirt, Dress, Shoes: TJ Maxx

After repurposing this dress into a skirt, I had a heck of a time accessorizing. I didn't know what would be too much- considering I had some bright red lips, a poofy skirt, poofy hair, and a large flower on my hip.

What accessories would you put with this look? Or would you put any?

First off you look GORGEOUS in that pic of the original dress. Second, you've totally given me ideas now with all those bridesmaid/pre-garment dresses I have hanging in the back of my closet. Lastly, I think the new skirt outfit looks fabulous with just the bracelets and lipstick. Any more might look like you're trying too hard, instead of effortlessly fabulous ;) L

Totally love this. That skirt looks amazing and your hair too. So pretty.
P.S. A woman can never have to many shoes. Am I right? hehe

What a novel idea! I think I have a few dresses that need to be re-purposed as well.

repurposing the dress as skirt (or dress as top) has been my go-to solution since my shorter dresses have been more difficult to wear after getting married. so i'm really glad someone else does this! i am always afraid that someone will catch on to my dirty secret. haha.

anyway i'm also contemplating the red lipstick as accessory lately. and i think my conclusion is that it is a great accessory. well done, friend.

First: what an adorable bridesmaid dress! And I've seen dresses re-purposed as skirts before, but not exactly like or as well as this. Nicely done. I'm headed to my closet to see if I can "borrow" the idea for myself!

Oh, and red lipstick? DEFINITELY an accessory.

You can't tell you tucked any part of the dress in and it looks incredible as a skirt. I never would have known if you didn't say.
