Don't they say you can always shorten bridesmaid dresses and make them cocktail dresses? How about lengthening them and making them skirts?

After repurposing this dress into a skirt, I had a heck of a time accessorizing. I didn't know what would be too much- considering I had some bright red lips, a poofy skirt, poofy hair, and a large flower on my hip.
What accessories would you put with this look? Or would you put any?

First off you look GORGEOUS in that pic of the original dress. Second, you've totally given me ideas now with all those bridesmaid/pre-garment dresses I have hanging in the back of my closet. Lastly, I think the new skirt outfit looks fabulous with just the bracelets and lipstick. Any more might look like you're trying too hard, instead of effortlessly fabulous ;) L

That's such a great dress, and works just as well as a skirt - well done lady, looking so cute!

looks good looks real good. Love the texture and the length.
Write it in Lipstick
What a novel idea! I think I have a few dresses that need to be re-purposed as well.
Um, I want to know who your photographer is for all of these photos! So much fun! You rock!
What a fabulous job you did. That skirt looks amazing! I totally use red lips as an accessory. I feel like it's such an easy way to spice up any outfit.

I love this look as is! Loving the red lipstick, i bought some not long ago but haven't had the courage to wear it yet! You have inspired me! Love your blog, now following! Miss Walker xoxo
repurposing the dress as skirt (or dress as top) has been my go-to solution since my shorter dresses have been more difficult to wear after getting married. so i'm really glad someone else does this! i am always afraid that someone will catch on to my dirty secret. haha.
anyway i'm also contemplating the red lipstick as accessory lately. and i think my conclusion is that it is a great accessory. well done, friend.
wow, you did such a great job modifying the dress. it is so perfect as a skirt and the accessories are flawless. love the red lipstick!
I am completely in love with this outfit! The red lipstick looks perfect.
First: what an adorable bridesmaid dress! And I've seen dresses re-purposed as skirts before, but not exactly like or as well as this. Nicely done. I'm headed to my closet to see if I can "borrow" the idea for myself!
Oh, and red lipstick? DEFINITELY an accessory.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!

Yes!! It's absolutely an accessory and my favorite one for this outfit. I would've kept it simple too b/c LIKE WOW re: this repurposed skirt. You got skillz, Monica. And you look positively gorgeous.
You can't tell you tucked any part of the dress in and it looks incredible as a skirt. I never would have known if you didn't say.
OMG, i LOVE how you refashioned a bridesmaid's dress into a skirt. LOVE!
