Born On The Fourth of July

I wasn't really born on the Fourth of July. But I kind of wish I was because it is my number one favorite holiday. I mean, what is not to love about family get togethers, summertime, red white and blue desserts, bbq's, and swimming. Oh, and fireworks! It really is a top notch holiday.

The other morning when I put this outfit on, I kind of felt that I might be celebrating a little too early. Does this look a little too patriotic for May?  You might remember, I have a hard time with seasonal clothing.

skirt: hand-me-down sweater: gift from monica shirt: ? I've had for 6 years shoes: TJ Maxx

So is red, white, and blue acceptable anytime of the year?

GBA! 'Nuff said. I don't adhere to this seasonal nonsense. Patriotism knows no season.

I love the red/white/navy combo so much that I have ceased thinking of it as a patriotic statement. I LOVE this outfit (my favorite so far) and think this combo can be pulled off in any season.

Another outfit that I am in love with! Red, white, and blue is classic especially when you are on the beach. It's very nautical. I dig it.

I am having an Anthropologie gift card giveaway on my bloggy blog! Would love for you to enter!

Time to blog, but no time to tell your dear old dad where you are or what you're doing?! The beach in Amsterdam looks suspiciously like Alameda...

I don't know whether I'm allowed to say, but Monica got that sweater at Sam's Club. It's nice having a Sam's here in Knoxville, but here's my Sam's Club/Costco analogy.
Sam's Club : Costco :: precooked bacon : thick, home-cooked bacon. Both are good, but if you have the option between the two, the choice is obvious.

Is this an appropriate forum to be making bacon-based analogies?

I don't think you look too patriotic. But who am I to judge since I love blue + red + white? I first think nautical, then patriotic. Unless stars are involved. ANYWAY, I love the skirt (I want a red skirt of my own) and the cardigan is great. (:

Ahhh, the 4th is my hubbies FAVORITE holiday! I wore a similar outfit last week, and felt very patriotic and loved it! I say rock those colors anytime! Then again I also don't care about "wearing white after labor day" and what have you. ;0)

Maybe a little Fourth-inspired, but definitely not obnoxiously so -- I love your little cardigan!

red, white and blue are good colour combo for any time of year, plus you can actually wear not only to honour you partiotic feelings but be involved in some other country patriotic holidays - lots of countries chosen red-white-blue colours!
your outfit is gorgeous!
