One time we went to the beach for several days and the only food we ate while we were there was Coldstone ice cream. We had a waffle cone for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (with different mix-ins each time).
Whenever we'd start feeling bad for spending 15 dollars a day on ice cream, Whitney's mom would reply, "It's okay! We're on 'Cation!"
Ever since then, I have this understanding that you can do whatever the heck you want while you're on vacation. This concept has leaked into how much money I spend, what I eat, how I act, and even what I wear.
I start my day with a somewhat normal outfit:
And then my 'cation mentality kicks in again and I put on a jacket that is too short for my outfit.

I think sometimes you just need a vacation from caring about how you look. Even if it means you look like an idiot. But one thing is for sure, I never ever regret looking like a fool. Those fanny packs are just so dang convenient.
I started my vacation asking you guys how to stay fashionable with only one carry-on bag. But now I am wondering, does it even matter? Can't I take a vacation from trying to look presentable?

haha, i love it! cation is the best! i think you look great with your fanny pack! my boys wear theirs all the time.
just wait until you become a mom of young children, the you'll be on vacation most days of the week! maybe twice a week i try to look presentable, but the rest i'm getting slimmed and goobered so it's sweats or jeans and t shirts for me!
I'm with your sister! I have been on a style vacation ever since I got pregnant the first time. My husband actually referred to my go-to summer pregnancy attire (gauchos, long tank-top, and double-zip hoodie) as my "uniform." Now that I have two small kiddos, I have a grand total of four cute outfits in my wardrobe. But just so you know, I don't think I will ever sink to the level of Mom Pants. :)
Haha! I do this daily... Unless I go somewhere. But I nanny across the street from where I live so do I EVER look decent? Nope. Actually I look about as bad as I possibly can. Mismatched socks with clashing slippers, baggy comfy pants and an oversized sweater. All topped off w zero makeup and my hair on top of my head. Gotta love it. Hahaha!!

Haha cute outfits even with the fanny pack!!! They are classy! I usually don't take a vacation from "getting ready for the day and attempting to look cute in a stylish outfit" but I should!! Well, whenever I'm at home I just wear sweats...and look horrible. But I should try it ha!

You are too cute! My vacation from style kicks in right around five pm every day. So basically as soon as I get home. My poor husband. I'm pretty much the exact opposite. I make sure I look extra-cute on vacation. Mostly, because vacation consists of going to see my family that I don't see often, and I want to look good!
