As much as I really enjoyed 22 days off, I have to admit...Having such a long break makes real life look very depressing. Especially when I left Huntington Beach, CA on Tuesday and the weather was 75 degrees and now I am in Knoxville with 96 degree weather and over 80 percent humidity.
I rolled into Knoxville yesterday, opened up my car door, and was instantly soaking wet with sweat. Since I have never spent a summer in the south, I am feeling very stressed about how to deal with this heat and humidity. Especially because I have to look professional while I teach.
After a red-eye flight to Nashville, with a layover in Houston, and a three hour drive back to Knoxville, I didn't have a chance to try out a humid-friendly outfit. So instead, I will leave you with these frizzy hair pictures, so you know I am not joking when I say I need summer tips.
Everything: TJ Maxx
Can anyone help me? What are some tricks you have to deal with dressing professionally in hot and/or humid weather??

lots and lots of skirts. and short-sleeved cardigans. humidity is the WORST.
Love the outfit youre wearing... looks like you got it right.
I wear a lot of dresses. It helps fight the warm
I think you look super cute! I live in a desert though... so I have no advice to offer. :/
Not to familiar with humidity (from socal here) but I do know what to wear to teach! You look great, I'm loving those jeans.
I like this outfit.....and your hair does not look THAT frizzy!
Dresses, skirts, and pony tails are about to become your new best friend.
Humidity suits you...haha honestly!! I don't think your hair looks frizzy at all!! My turns curly...it is HORRIBLE! I'll trade ya :)
haha xox!!
I actually just wrote a guest post about this on Brittney's blog at A Day in the Life Too. :)
Here's the link (since I honestly can't remember most of what I said!):

Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
Sorry no tips here. I'm not helpful at all.
Method Clothe
Short sleeved blazers and hair of the neck! And stay inside ;)
off the neck!
Hate the melt-downs too. Humidity can be really depressing! I would say matte mineral foundations, blotting papers and stains mixed with lip balms for makeup. Structured yet casual skirts and dresses in cotton or rayon in lighter colors (black absorbs and retains heat so I would avoid that). For hair, Argan oil serums work well. Hope this helps. :)

those amazing jeans are from TJ Maxx?! wow. and go read I'm Clothed Much post about this very topic. She recently gave a few great tips for dressing in hot/humid weather. I think you look great though!

Gosh. I am going to be no help here whatsoever. Sorry girl. But your TJMaxx outfit is smashing and your hair looks slightly windblown - not frizzy. ;)
I've lived in NC my entire life and I know what you are going through. First I recommend ramping up your water intake. Wear lots of dresses and skirts and tanks. Cotton is best. Buy every anti-frizz hair product you can find: Shampoo, conditioner, etc. If you flat iron your hair...I wouldn't bother in the summer months. After 15 minutes outside, you will not see the benefits of all that time you wasted ( I stopped last summer after a beach trip ). Instead you should look for an easy hairstyle that looks good but is more friendly to whatever type of hair you have. Good makeup! Makeup that will not run off or something that really lasts.
Hope that helps! You look fabulous by the way!
It's humid here but doesn't get very hot very often. I swear by braids in humidity. If you make it kind of messy it still looks like it's been "done" and the frizzies look purposeful. Other than that - lot's of light cotton dresses.
I'm glad to hear you're back! The humidity is hard on the hair for sure! I have embraced the pony tail/bun:)
You look amazing despite the humidity! I'm living in OKC for the summer and I'm dying! Ugh!

I grew up in Houston, went to school in Dallas and now live in NYC. I know humidity. There is no way around it, I say through some leave in conditioner or Bumble and Bumble cream and rock the waves and big hair. If you can't fight it, go with it.
You look amazing, not seeing any probs!
xoxo
I'd love to hear some tips too!!

Ugh...coming from North Florida, stay in the AC lol! Layering cardis with lightweight unders so that you can strip when you step outdoors. And buns. High buns, low buns, ponies. I love those clear plastic hair ties. They just give a more finished look to a pony than black ones. More work appropriate I say.
Skirts are where it's at. Lightweight cotton is the best. And layers for work - get something light and short-sleeved to cover your shoulders that you can take off as soon as you go outside. Investigate new ways to put your hair up.
And mainly, don't go outside if you can help it, unless you're going somewhere with water. Park in the shade and make sure your car's AC is in good working order. I've lived my whole life in the South, and I can tell you that summers don't feel less hot over time. Every summer I'm surprised by how hot and humid it is.

Natural fabrics: cotton, linen and silk. Anything poly or synthetic doesn't breath and traps the sweat right on ya!
hair: easiest to wear it curly (make sure to use anti-frizz). if you flat iron, make sure your hair is 100% dry; the humidity is going to make the otherwise unnoticeable slightly damp sections go crazy.
sweating: cardigans! take off your cardigan when you're alone to give your armpits some air... but then put it back on in a hurry if anyone comes in.. and you'll cover up the 5" diameter wet spot under your arm. Also, air out your feet. and make sure not to store your gym clothes in the gym bag.
dry shampoo or different talcs work okay to help combat sweats and oils too.
use plenty of face blotters, and it's not a bad idea to have a handkerchief in your purse. if not for you, for rhett!
good thing: humidity is good for complexion.
good thing2: when working out, you feel really accomplished cause you're always dripping with sweat!
