I've really avoided this chambray shirt stuff for a while. Whenever I see one I'm immediately transported back to the early 1990s when my family decided to wear matching shirts for our family picture.
I tried to re-create my side pony but I couldn't get it as big.

I think the chambray looks great with the skirt and I also think it would look good with those black ankle skinnies that you have that I love that you wore in Chicago.
Oh my goodness! CLASSIC 90's family photo! Love it!! :D But I honestly LOOOOOOOVE my Chambray shirt! I wear it with EVERYTHING! I love wearing it with skirts or over dresses and either tucking it in or tieing it in the front, I love wearing it with darker jeans and something under the chambray shirt to break it up, I seriously wear my chambray shirt more than any other shirt I own! :D

personally i love the shirt but i think wearing it with this skirt was a really confusing choice. i think skinnies or a really light linen skirt could work though.

I love the chambray shirt, I actually just bought one too because I like them and want to work them into my wardrobe. I think they can be worn with almost anything and I especially love this with that skirt! You look amazing!

I definitely like the chambray top and you could wear it with anything. Every kind of skirt, jeans, and leggings too. So many different ways!

I don't like it with the black, but maybe it's just the skirt. It might look good with black skinnies or something. I think it would look best with anything white (skinnies, wide-leg, or even capris?)
So.... when I first saw the pic with the skirt, I immediately went, "Yikes!" I would have never paired it with such a dressy skirt. But... after looking at it a little longer, I think it somehow works on you. I dunno how you do it, but you seem to be able to pull off anything you put on! But I also agree with most everyone else here, pair it with some dark skinnies, or belt it with a pair of flares.

I don't have a chambray shirt, but I do have a couple of oxford shirts that I treat like chambray shirts. So far, the only outfits I've come up with are kind of blah.

Oh gosh there is a picture of me from second grade wearing a chambray shirt. To make matters worse, it's one of those pictures where they superimpose your face so there is two of you next to each other. Horrible. I like the shirt with that polka dot skirt. I think it would look cute with dark skinnies and some flats, or even open with a colored shirt underneath and white shorts.

I wasn't into the chambray either, then I found my polka dot skirt I knew it was perfect. I think we should do a chambray shirt day with polka dot skirts. I plan on wearing it with white jeans and a neon belt next time.

That family photo is hilarious. It's so funny how denim shirts were so yucky after the 90s and now they are back in a cool way. I love chambray shirts, I think light chambray shirts look awesome tucked in to dark wash jeans, or paired with a bright skirt or bright pants or shorts. You can pretty much pair it with anything. It really looks great on you. You find lots of great stuff at Sam's. Who knew?!

haha...I kinda felt the same way. They do seem a little 90's feel to me. I also am not a fan of any type of shirt that buttons. Just not my style. But I found a cute chambray shirt at Target and I really like it. I think for me the key is a lot of tailoring so it's more fitted and not so loose.
