So whether or not I should keep this party frock is NOT the question, it will remain in my closet. The question is: if your child's Kindergarten teacher was wearing this, would you think she was:
a. kind of out of her mind
b. fun
c. you'd think nothing of it
and if you're thinking, "You shouldn't pair that orange dress with black stretch pants", oh those aren't stretch pants, my jeans are just that tight and the dark wash turned black in the shadow. If you have a suggestion of what the fiesta dress could be bettered paired with, please share!

I think it looks great and I'd definitely think- B. :)
I would think she was quirky and fun just as all kindergarten teachers should be...mine definitely was and I remember her til this day.
I'd think "fun!" and I'd be jealous that I wasn't wearing that outfit! ;)
I would definitely think "fun." Obviously it wouldn't be as appropriate if you worked in an office, but for teaching school, absolutely!
My other suggestion would be a skinny belt at the waist to create a little shape. Perhaps in turquoise...That might be cute too!
I am a teacher and I would totally wear this outfit. The dress is fantastic! I love how you added the colored heels to pull it all together.
Sincerely,
Julie
Super cute! I would wear it to work. I think a belt would also help make it more work appropriate too.
Love your shoes!
Totally fun! I love that dress! I agree with Abby that it would look really cute belted. And I love the shoes!!
I love the whole outfit. I think that it is recommended that teachers of younger grades wear colors and textures - it's like an educational experience for them! I love the shoes with that dress - you look awesome!
I wouldn't think anything of it! Kindergarten teachers are supposed to wear things like this!
fun fun fun!! wish jack could have you as his k teacher next year!!!
Fun! Kindergarten teachers can wear whatever the heck they want. Except all black. I'd be worried if she looked too professional
Holly
i think you would be the hottest kindergarten teacher ever. baha :)
I vote B! I think it would be fun, but I wouldn't think it to be odd or out of place. I would think, "WOW! My kid's teacher has great style. Wonder if she wants to go shopping?" ha ha ha :) I would also wear this outfit on a date or to a festival!
i would think fun, but really i would think nothing of it. i think this dress is amazing, and i really don't think it needs to be saved for just fiesta-ish occasions. wear it often...it looks fab on you!
Definitely fun! I love it!
I love the dress--it's cute and different. I think I would style it with some kind of belt--mid-width, slightly high waisted. For some reason, I find belts give fun pieces a little credibility. Try it!

It totally works for the classroom! I would belt it with a long, thin brown braided belt wrap around the waistline twice and knotted. But your way is super cute!
Love the shoes!

B Fun!!! I actually really like it. Love the shoes with the top. Makes the outfit complete! I used to get emotionally attached to clothing but not so much anymore. I'm more of a throw away everything and start over kind of girl....haha!

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! My husband kept telling me I looked crazy when I wore it. But now I really think I'm going to incorporate it into my every day wear... and adding a belt! genius.
I love it! It matches your personality so well! Kindergarten teachers are meant to look colorful and happy!

Love it! I teach school and would wear something like that. It would be really cute belted too!
Haha I love your fiesta dress! If I had a kid and that kid was in kindergarten, I would much rather he/she have a cool and stylish and creative teacher than a boring and frumpy teacher! So yeah, it's definitely a keeper! :)
fun! I think teachers can get away with a low in regards to the dress code.
Oh girls ur blog is adorable! Whit, you look so much like Robin ... Just beautiful!!! She'd love this blog. I just might have to copy ur looks so I can look more fashion forward. :)

I would totally think you were just channeling your inner Miss Lippy! I want my kids in your class!
i think it's fun!! kindergarten shouldn't be too rigid - it should be a place to explore creativity! and also, where did you get those awesome shoes!?!?
Gah!! What an awesome dress to have in your closet. If you were my son's kindergarten teacher and dressed this way, I would be very excited, as it would be an indication of your level of creativity. How much creativity? Thhhiiiiiiiiiiiis much! How joyous. It's not crazy at all.

My son is heading to kindergarten this fall (eek!) and if I were to walk into his class and see his teacher wearing this outfit I'd be thrilled! Your gorgeous outfit sings young, fun, and loving life!

I think that is an amazing piece that shouldn't be hidden in your closet all year except May 5th! I think you should pull it out and wear it more often :) love the jeans and shoes too.
Fun! And then I would think, "she must have a really fun personality and I wish I could pull off something bold like that!" =)
I would think TOTALLY fun (and I wonder if I could borrow that top?!? ;)

Looks like Kindergarten to me, just maybe not those shoes for the zoo field trip!
That last tunic with the bright colors soooo me!
B! I teach 1st grade and that is totally my excuse for a lot of outfits (especially ones that involve large flowers or bows on top of my head!)
Love the outfit! I pray my as yet unconceived children have such a fabulously dressed teacher each and every year!
I'd think she was fun, with her own unique sense of style.
