There was a time in my life when I wore fake eyelashes every single day (whitney and my past roommates can attest to this). There was also a time in my life when those fake lashes singed off as I removed cookies from the oven (in the middle of hosting a party). This is when I decided maybe fake lashes aren't for the every day.
See these lashes?
Yeah. They're fake.(sorry for the extreme close up of my large face)
See these lashes?
Yeah, those are real.
As you can see, I have these large-and-in-charge eye sockets but no lashes to go with them. I don't want to wear lashes everyday (I bake a lot of cookies) but I want some nice full lashes.
I am in the market for some new mascara. Do you have any advice? What is your favorite mascara?

I wish I could help, but I can't use mascara! I'd get a pink eye because of allergies. pretty stupid huh? x
How about the mascara called the falsies? It adds like little tubes that make your lashes look longer. I forget which one I've tried and it was pretty good. I think it might have been by Loreal.
LANCOME!!!!! Hypnose is the best but I usually pair it with Definicils.
Supershock Mascara from Avon!

For years I was a Maybelline Great Lash devotee, but I recently started using Cover Girl's Lash Blast Volume (the one in the orange tube) and find that I like it better.
Honestly... one of my favorite mascaras is from Maybeline. It's their waterproof with a super skinny wand. HOWEVER.... if you want expensive, I love Bad Girl mascara by Benefit.
seriously, i will give you the best mascara at the best price
Loreal Voluminous in carbon black about $7
better than high end mascara's and what a value

For years and years and years I have been a devotee to Maybelline's Great Lash mascara. Traditional, doesn't clump, great. But I decided to take a break from the norm and got "The Falsies" mascara from them (Maybelline). While it does clump a bit (to break those apart, I use the Great Lash's wand) it makes them pop so much. Definitely gives them that "false" look.
I LOVE Loreals Double Extend Beauty Tubes...its a 2 coat process and it's amazing. The white coat coats (does that even make sense?) you lashes and puts these tubes on them then the black is the actual mascara. It's wonderful. Now it is a little creepy when you wash your face and the tubes come off but it's totally worth it.
I used to buy designer ones like Dior Black Out and Bad Gal lash, but now I just stick with Maybelline Big Lash. It has a great brush, gets all the little hairs, and costs the same amount as a gourmet coffee!
If you like a skinny wand L'oreal hydrofuge voluminous is fantastic. If you like a big wand covergirl lash blast fusion, the big all purple tube, is great. I switch back and fourth between these two
I like the orange Covergirl one. I think it's Lash Blast volume or something like that. You have to let us know what you try and if you like it!
And the close up of your face is cute. =)
YES, i do actually... i am a fake lash lover (mine are short and by no means luscious). i was using some cheapy mascaras and realized my eyelashes were actually breaking... not good.
so i tried almay get up and grow (white tube) because i thought it may be a little more gentle and i LOVE it. i swear to you it has improved my actual lashes. my mom didn't like it, but i swear by it now. let us know if you find one you like!
I love Dior Show, that's my go-to. But I have also tried the Volum' Experss The Falsies by Maybelline (I think someone mentioned them above) and it works really well too! Now if I want really big lashes I just put on Dior Show first then apply The Falsies just a tiny bit as a second coat :-)
P.S. your story about "singeing off" your lashes is hilarious...I mean it's only funny if you didn't get hurt!
I have no mascara advice except that you should find some companies to give you mascara to review on the blog! Didn't I read somewhere that you went to cosmetology school too? You'd be a great candidate to do a mascara review. :) And, I LOVE that first pic of you!!!!!!! Like, really. A lot.
I have tried every mascara under the sun... the winner is definitely Lancome. I like the virtuose and hypnose.
OOO OOOO!!!! I know, I know! I've searched for years for mascara that would help my tiny eyelashes and I wouldn't go anywhere else other than Bare Essentials.
The tubes are $18, but last FOREVER and easy to clean off. They have this FABULOUS mascara...Flawless Definaition Volumizing Mascara. Seen here:
http://www.bareescentuals.com/Flawless-Definition-Volumizing-Mascara---Black/masterfdmvolume,default,pd.html?start=3&cgid=BE
I also see that they have something NEW...Flawless Definition CURL & LENGTHEN Mascara:

I'll be sure to try the new one out!!
Have a fantastic Friday Eve!!!

to tell you the truth, I'm not very picky with mascara cause I have naturally long lashes myself. However, just wanted to let you know that I prefer your natural lashes over fake ones :) I'm way more into the natural look.
My hair stylist was just telling me about this new thing called eyelash extensions. She said that they are BEAUTIFUL and so natural looking. I think it was something like $80 for the first time and then $20 every 4 weeks. Not sure how they would do up against a hot oven though :)
You should try the Latisse products I always hear about. My sis-n-law used the mascara and her lashes are pretty! I need it for my eyebrows that disappeared one night.
My old roommates are both Master Aestheticians and one of them always did lash extensions AND she had them done on herself as well. I think her and another MA friend would just trade services. But they didn't seem to have any problem when cooking. And we live in St. George, where it's already bloody hot in the summer! But Lindsey is correct... it is $80 for the first time and then to get fills, I can't remember how much they charge. But it's so expensive but of the special glue they have to use. BUT, my old roommate who had lash extensions... well, they just looked TOO long in my opinion. It was almost unnatural looking... more than just false lashes. I like the Falsies mascara that comes in a purple tube... it's waterproof... I cry a lot. LoL!
I'm high maintenance in my eye lashes too! Sometimes I swear I spend more time on my eyelashes than on my hair haha. But I always like to use two kinds of mascara. Right now i'm using Mary Kay Lengthening for a base to ge them long and defined and then I use Revlon GrowLushious for volume! It's my fav combination EVER!
Maybelline Full 'N Soft!! Also try this trick... get an eyelash curler and shimmy it up to the base of the lashes, as close to your eyelid as you can. Then hold it down for 10 seconds and voila! Your lashes stand up higher and more vertically, making them look like they're longer. A lot of people say to "keep curling until you reach the end of the eyelash," but no need to! Hope this makes sense & helps!
You could try (kinda expensive) lash extensions. I had a few friends do them, and they loved them. The best part was they never had to wear mascara again. I think I will do it when I have more money... a few years down the road! :)
I use Bad Gal Lash from Benefit everyday and I quite like it. That photo of you popping gum is SO dang cute by the way!
Cheers,
Bre
I love Lancom definicils. It's wonderful. But did you know about eyelash extensions? they last for about 6 weeks and look amazing!
Falsies by Maybelline (its in a purple tube)! Thee best! Good luck :)
You're so pretty! :) I'm not used to seeing you w/o red lipstick (which I also love!)
For mascaras, my faves are Lancome Definicils and Maybelline Full-n-Soft. I am *dying* to try Latisse, but I'm scared and it's really expensive. :P
Well I think your real lashes are lovely! :) I used Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara and I love it. It never clumps and is also affordable.
I usually stick with Cover girl ultra black with the curved wand. It seems to do the trick.
xo L.
I like Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara because it's actually supposed to help your lashes grow longer, stronger & fuller.... in the long run better natural lashes so you won't feel the need to stick on the falsies.
I love love love Cover Girl's Lash Blast Volume in the orange tube too. I swear it is the best and love that I can grab it from the grocery store. I think it's totally better than ones I've tried from make-up counters.
I've tried every mascara in the book and Maybelline Full and Soft is my fave. I don't know if it's the end-all because I feel like it dries out kind of fast and then you have to replace it more often than I would like. But it's great stuff for a month or so.
On the cheap, Maybelline's "The Falsies" is seriously the ultimate. I used to use CoverGirl Lash Blast, but I think that maybe my eyelashes got used to it and it stopped having such a dramatic effect?
At this moment, I'm currently going through my Sephora "Gimme Some Lash" sampler. Seriously, it's so fun. And not that expensive. But more importantly, fun. :)

I love Loreal Voluminous. And you should try LiLash. It's a lot like Latisse but you don't need a prescription. It makes your lashes grow in longer and thicker.
I am a HUGE mascara fan. My eyes are all I put make up on so you can picture it... I know Mascaras. And no matter how they advertise them, they really don't make much of a difference because you're maybe born with it or maybe not. And if you're not, there's nothing mascaras can do for you in the long run.
However you can try with Latisse, which lengthens and thickens your eyelashes beautifully. If you're afraid of the side effects, I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum. You can buy it anywhere for $15. A total steal. I started using it about a year ago and I have beautiful eyelashes--not that I didn't before because, ahem, I am one of those born with it... but I still wanted some more. :P You put on the serum at night and before applying mascara and it SO lengthens your lashes! Super cool. And then... you can put absolutely any mascara on and your eyes will look oh so pretty...! Give it a try and tell me. :)
Maybelline Falsies Volume Express! I used to be a pink and green tube fanatic, but the Falsie's is much better. Comes out very thick, which I really like- less coats needed.
I use about 30 layers of the Orange tube from covergirl and it works like a charm. I think it's Lash Blast? I don't know, but it's the bomb. and it's cheap. And if you get the sunday paper there's usually coupons for covergirl!
Love, Alexis
i just saw a commercial for maybelline "falsies" mascara today. i haven't tried it but it may work: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod2330025
Another vote for Maybelline Full 'N Soft here!! I try something new every time it dries up, but I've been going back to this one since high school. It looks great with one coat and FANTASTIC with a few more. Get the waterproof one though, the other isn't as good.
I like Maybelline Lash Stiletto. It doesn't smudge at all, which makes me happy.
I've been a hardcore Loreal Volumnious fan for years. However, the other day I flagged down a girl who had the most amazing eyelashes and she said she uses Falsies by Maybelline. It's been on my list to try.
I used to use Maybelline Great Lash, but wanted thicker lashes. So I decided to try Maybelline one-by-one volume express and I like it. I think great lash is good for length and one-by-one is good for thickness. Hope you find something that works--experimenting is the worst!
Tarte Lights! Camera! Lashes! is my favorite. Nothing else I try every comes close (though I've never tried the Dior mascara everyone seems to love). I never have to apply more than one coat, never have to comb, and it leaves my lashes soft but not flaky. I once got an older tube that was a bit dry but that is not the normal consistency, so if you decide to try it know that it shouldn't be dry.
I use Lash blast Cover Girl in the orange tube. It's my favorite kind that doesn't cost a fortune. If you're up for a splurge ($30 a tube), go for Chanel Intimable. It is the absolute best mascara ever. It just kills me a little bit to spend that much! I think the CG is a good alternative for much, much less.
i have the best idea ever (haha): try using what i've been using for 3 months now. it's a product like lactisse but you dont have to go to the doctor for it. it's called rapid lash and you put it on every night. my eye lashes are seriously amazing now and I am obsessed with them! they've thickened and they've grown a lot and now they're really really long. i can even email you pics if you want!
and i am a mascara snob and have tried every stinking tube at target along with all the expensive ones at the mall. nothing works! i do kinda like the stuff i'm using now but i cant think of the brand. it comes in a gold tube. but seriously...rapid lash! local salons also sell $$$ lash growers but rapid lash online is only like $30-50. try it out! and i had no side effects, fyi.
Libby on the Label
also, eye lash extensions are not good for your eyes. my esthetician and also my best friend who is a makeup artist say nooo way, no how! they pull out your real eyelashes and also make more of your real eyelashes fall out. you're left with puny little stubs when you're all done and you have to keep it up monthly to make them look decent. no bueno!
Hmmm...right now I'm using CoverGirl Lashblast Volume Blasting Mascara. I like it and I suffer from the same issue big eyes/no lashes.
I have the same problem, and I have tried every expensive mascara out there, but my absolute fave has ended up being Mabelline Lash Stilletto in water proof black. The water proof is the only way to go because it holds curl. I had someone tell me I had pretty eyelashes for the first time, and never went back.
Girl...you rock those natural lashes! i think they look great!! I love that new Falsies Mascara by Maybelline. :)
Have you tried Latisse? I started using it a few months ago and it is WONDERFUL! I can't rave enough about it. I also use Chanel Inimitable mascara and it's pretty amazing.
I just became your newest follower! I would love for you to visit the blog I just started with my sister and follow us back. It's cool to see fellow blogger duos!
Also, we just started a giveaway for a Tiffany & Co. necklace! Hope you can check it out :)

on a completely different note, may I ask what eyeliner you use? I've wanted that eyeliner look for so long but don't know what kind to get. I would love to know, thanks! :)
oh and I love your lashes either way!!
The House of Shoes
my current faves are l'oreal extened lash (i think that's it), it can be a little tricky at first but it seriously gives you mega lash length, it looks like falsies and my 2nd fav is mabeline voluminous...or something like that great and thick but not clumpy...it's in a purple tube...i'm too lazy to go upstairs and double check the name, anyway, if you can't find it email me and i will go up and check it! ;) hope your trip was fun, i looove that maxi look!
Tarina Tarantino. Sephora. $25 (?) and worth every.last.penny
