In the past, Tyson and I always travelled together. This summer was different. I stayed home with my precious newborn baby girl, Chloe. We hit the pool, fed the ducks, had play dates, enjoyed 4th Fireworks, strolled all over, enjoyed the Clovis Farmer's Market on Friday nights, and the cool mountain air up at Shaver. We kept it local this summer and it's been one of the best summers of my life. If I had to choose a highlight, it would be...simply, taking walks in the evening with Tyson and Chloe.
And if it makes any difference, in June, my 7 year-old Chi finally died on me and I've had some pretty wild hair ever since. If I do straighten it, I go completely ghetto and I use my clothes iron. Why haven't I bought a new Chi? I'm in frizzy, wild hair denial. I think I've forgotten how wonderful it is to have an amazing straightener.
The highlight of my summer is all the time I spent with my family. I don't have any family in Arizona, but since I teach I was able to escape a couple of times a month and spend time with them in cooler climates. Now that school's back in who knows when I will see them!
The highlight of my summer was playing dream role Cinderella in a community play, and having a longtime friend play my Prince Charming. I felt so lucky and had a blast!
