Elastic

I think it is pretty safe to say that elastic and I have never really gotten along.  I avoid certain underwear because of the pesky elastic, I go nuts if my sleeve has elastic on it, and I'm even picky about my ponytail holder elastics.

I've somehow ended up with this shirt that has ELASTIC on the sleeves....and even worse....elastic around the waist band?  Seriously?  I don't know about you guys....but I don't know how I feel about elastic squeezing my love handles.  As evidenced by the photo below.
But, I own the shirt- so I need to wear it.  Even if the elastic bugs me.

Can I wear the top with the elastic waistband poofy-ness showing?

Or, should I just keep that pesky little elastic waist band tucked?

I think it can go both ways, because of how you styled it - with skinny jeans, it makes sense to let it blouse a little, and with wide leg jeans, tucking makes sense to counterbalance the pant width. But I do think I like it best with the wide jeans - especially because the belt is such a fun pop of color (and tucking is probably more flattering, even if it does look good both ways...). Very cute outfit!

Hi, I like the elastic tucked in. Elastic reminds me of maternity clothes :) Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I look forward to more fun posts :)

I like it best tucked in. I think the outfit with the wide leg jeans looks super cute! :)

K love your the top bun, and those pants are fantastic. I have a similar pair that are so fun to dress up:)

I like it tucked in. If you decide to always keep it tucked in you, could you take the elastic out? If you do that, it may turn into a flowy top too? Heather

I have to say, I think the top looks super cute on you. And I love those pants!

It looks cute both ways and I think you should wear it both ways to switch it up. You look great in it!

Both ways. :) i know what you mean though, drives me nuts too. :P

very nice look!

Looks good either way! I'd say tucked in for work, and hang it out for play!

amber said...

hmmm both ways look good, but i think i'd have to go with the tucked in look.

It definitely makes the outfit feel more casual untucked, and tucked in looks more professional but both are cute.

I think it looks better tucked in. And I'm with Heather from Style Journey, I'd take the elastic out if you hate it and always wear it tucked anyway! Snip, snip, snip! ;)

I really like it tucked in. With the bright belt that you added it highlights your tiny waist:)

I like it more tucked in..looks polished. untucked can be winged for a casual look. Regardless, the way you wear it..i love the print :)

Definitely tucked. I wish I could inform the retailers (i.e. especially you Forever 21!) that I am *so sick* of all the elastic waistband shirts. I loved to wear them while I was pregnant, but now it seems like that is all that is out there!

Nikki said...

To me it looks great both ways :) but personally I don't like to wear these poofy shirts either. x

First, what love handles?! You're tiny! Now that I got that off my chest... I like it both ways, and tucked is my favorite. I also love those trousers! :)

stella and olivias mommy said...

tucked. i hate elastic bottomed shirts too. no need to accentuate the "hate" handles.

I'm loving that top and trousers a lot! So classic. :-)

BTW, thank you for dropping by my blog. I'm a new follower. I hope you follow me back.

Much love from Mystic Nymph.

It looks good either way, but since you are not a big fan of elastics, wear it tucked so you don't get all self-conscious about it. Hope that helps :)

ugh i hate elastic on shirts! i think it looks fine tucked in, but you could always cut it off the bottom.

debbiecutieface said...

I would tuck it in; otherwise it looks slightlyy awkward in my opinion.

Peachy Cheek said...

I also don't like elastics, I usually end up pulling the elastic right off or stretching it to break the elastic! I think it looks great tucked in!!!

rlutz said...

I hate elastic on a shirt waistband! I think the shirt looks best tucked in, but if it is more comfortable with it not tucked in...go for the comfort!!

Libby said...

definitely tuck it in, it looks really cute! You cant believe how many shirts I haven't been able to buy because the bottom had elastic on it...sooo unflattering! Never even thought to tuck it in!

Laura said...

I vote tucked in too! If it is long you could cut off the elastic...otherwise when you are preggers it will be the perfect untucked top. :)

jessi said...

i think it looks great either way :)

KatyK said...

I really like the top :) I think you could wear it either way. Untucked it looks a little dressed down, but I do think that tucked in is much more flattering with those pants :)

muzikgenyus said...

Tucked. I like both, but I LOVE tucked. PS- it doesn't look like the elastic on the sleeves is that tight.

silvergirl said...

i like it tucked in
can you discretely take the elastic out?

Rach said...

I vote tucked in. With the elastic out it kind of looks like a maternity top. I never buy shirts with elastic on the bottom because I will without fail look prego.

madison avenue said...

i dont like elastic on the bottom of shirts either...it doesnt flatter my body at all haha so i just always cut it off and sew a new hem :)

Amanda Nguyen said...

i have a shirt like that too....I like keeping it tucked in! thinking about just removing the elastic though and making it a straight hem...cause that elastic is annoying!! but both looks so very cute!

The shirt is really cute. I think it looks best tucked in.

I'm going to agree with most of the comments above - I think the tucked in look is best. And I totally agree that elastic is obnoxious! I really don't understand why anyone would think to put elastic at the bottom of a shirt? Does that look really flatter anyone?!

Rin said...

I like it way better tucked in.

heidi said...

i like it tucked in, but i think you made it worked untucked as well, even though having an elastic waistband is so awkward on shirts. either way, it's a great blouse!

Angie said...

I say wear it showing! I have a few elastic waistbands & I flaunt it :) It's much more comfy & wearable that way.

Sharde said...

i like it tucked the best, but both ways totally work. pinky promise!
