Work Pants or Pajama Pants?

sidenote: I LOVED reading about your pet names, I laughed out loud a few times while reading them. I also never thought about how it is funny to have a pet but then give it a human name, I hadn't thought about calling a dog "George" or "Frank" and how funny that is.

If you thought I was going to stop posting about work pants... guess again! You're probably like, "How many times can she ask about pants??" Giiiirrrlll I've got pants questions for days. So I think everyone is a fan of seersucker, right? Well I am too and that is why I bought these pants seven years ago. However, I haven't worn them in public in about five years. I usually just lounge in them.

this is me lounging

Since I am in somewhat need of non-jean pants I decided to pull these bad boys out, but I haven't gone as far as wearing them to work. I think it's because they might look like pajama pants??

Or maybe because I look a bit frumpy?  Or is it just because I haven't worn non-skinny pants in a long time? Should I just keep these for lounging?

I think they're fab! If you're really concerned about looking frumpy pair them w/ a statement shirt w/ ruffles or flowers or a bow tie or something on it. Or a statement necklace. And wear dressier shoes. Just dress up the pants and it'll take the frump outta there!

Definitely not frumpy. Seersucker classes everything up, in my opinion. I love them with the TOMS, but you could go dressier with the shoes if you were worried about looking too casual.

Seersucker is a great fabric. I once read the history of seersucker (yeah, I'm kind of dork like that). They were originated in the the south and are meant to keep you cool. They are also wrinkle resistant! They don't look like pajamas at all. You should rock them!

I think they're a bitttt too casual for work, but that doesn't mean they are pajama pants! I'd wear them out to the mall or something.

I like them a lot. I don't think they look like pajamas at all. I would wear them to work....if I went somewhere to work. I'm currently a stay at home mom. :)

I would wear those pants to work all the time. And if they're comfy enough to lounge in, I see that as a plus.

They are definitely not pj's! I agree about dressing them up if you want them to feel less frumpy to you ;)

I too love seersucker, to dress the pants up I would take them up to ankle length (if you can't sew, that bonding web you use with an iron works a treat) and then when you iron them, put a crease in them ie fold seam to seam and iron so the crease is in the front and the back, that always smartens up all pant styles and gives you a better shape. Good luck honey. ax

No on the PJ's. Yes on the awesome. I like the relaxed look with the TOMS. I can't quite tell in the pics, but the pants might be a little long which creates a gathering at the bottom and that might be what is giving you the frump feeling. I like it for the relaxed look, but maybe play with the hem line and see if that changes the frump factor for you. :)

I love them, but I think you need a punch of color somewhere. I vote for red shoes!

I think they'd be totally fine for work, esp since you're a teacher! they're cute, not too pajama-y at all!

I think they could totally work. I just think you need dressier shoes or a more structured look up top. :)

ARE those from american eagle?! I used to have those and wore them so much I got a hole in the butt. 7 years later, I still miss them. I seriously loved those pants.

I LOVE seersucker! I think they look way cute. I can see what you mean about them having a pj look, but it's more just a casual thing. Maybe dress it up a bit with a more fancy blouse or something. I do like what you have it paired with in the pictures though. =)

I don't think its the pants, I think its what you paired it with. Not that there is anything wrong with this top and sweater. I just think the three items together give you the pajamas-like feel. I think you should try dressing up the pants before making the final verdict.

Honestly, in those photos, they look like pajamas. I don't know if they're different in real life.

I am OBSESSED with seersucker. I am so into it that I have Brian hooked.

I vote YES on the pants. To the naysayers I say, photos don't do seersucker justice.

the pants are great, but as a deep southerner
seersucker is for the summer and only for the summer
pull them out again in June and wear them with pride!
