Fred Flinstone Feet

I think Monica and a few select other readers are the only people aware that I have a very large big toe. It is BIG. and guys, it has busted through two of my most beloved pair of shoes, my gray flats and my ballerina flats. I mean, I knew that they were on their deathbed, but I didn't think my toe would come busting out of them like it did.

I have been facing this question for a long time, but I am VERY curious what your go-to winter shoe is?????

I've worn both these flats in cold weather and lots of other inappropriate footwear, but I would love to get a good pair of shoes to wear this winter. ANY SUGGESTIONS??? (I know boots, but what kind? It's not cold enough for like sorels, I need comfort and warmth)

my sisters both have a big toe that tends to turn upwards. their toms all have holes where their toe has poked through. i think it helps them to go up a size, but they still inevitably rip. it just takes a little bit longer. there are really cute converse out now that might be more durable.

a black/brown/grey ankle boot? you could tuck skinnies into them? OR some loafers??

Just not van's slipons. Those are notorious for being all holey on the toe! I wear converse into the Winter and then I alternate between wellies (I got some for $3 from a J.Crew outlet!) and some boots that kind of look like hiking boots but I don't care. If I win the lottery, the one I don't play, I'd buy these

I love Keds! Though I did have my big toe push through in one of the pairs I own. I would also recommend a good pair of tall brown boots, they'll go with everything and will keep you warm.

I love my cognac colored flat tall boots(seriously...that's the description color lol...I would say carmel). Seriously...I wear them all. the. time. They go with every color (and I especially love them with my skinnies).

my shoes have started doing that too!! it's so sad. i just had a thought...what if we reinforced the inside of our shoes before we even started wearing them? like, with that bunion cushion stuff that's sticky on one side? maybe that would prevent holes from happening or at least slow them down?

i saw some super cute riding boots on sale at payless the other day. i think i might get them and have them be my winter shoe this year.

Wait. a. minute. I want to see the toe!!!!

My fave shoe is a cute colorful pair of rain boots from Target or Old Navy. (have not chosen a pair for this year...yet)

If you want to save your TOMS, use a contrasting color thread to sew it up. Then they will have personality! :)

I usually just stick with boots during the Winter. And then I cry when it gets too warm to continue wearing them.

You should salvage your toms by covering with fabric like shown here:

Note this is not my blog but a neat one :)

I love my Uggs for comfort and ease and a cute pair of tall camel colored flat boots - they match everything and are easy to wear under or over jeans (Depending on the style of jeans). I am totally guilty of wearing flats during our horrible winters though .... and I live in Canada!!!

I am definitely an Uggs girl on the weekends. For work, I wear a lot of boots. Black leather heeled, brown suede heeled with chain details, black suede wedged, and flat gray suede. I don't wear flat ones often though because we usually have a lot of snow and muck.

Toms are famous for that I think they do it on purpose so people will have to buy a new pair every year are so. I dont think it's your toe rather than your toe nail do you keep your nails long, I like mine right at are alittle longer than my toe.
I recently ordered a pair of boots from La Posh Style, they are really warm and the tops are soft a flexable not stiff, here is a link there $60, I ordered the tan but I would like the gray ones.

I have huge feet too. I don't know what size you are but I'm about a 10. I just wear whatever I want at the risk of looking like big foot :)

poor shoes! you just need shoes made out of more durable material is all. and you know how those Hunter rainboots are everywhere lately? well I got a look alike for Much much cheaper at Walmart. they always keep my feet dry and warm!

Oh how funny! I have this same problem. I am always really critical of ballet flats on my feet b/c you can see my big toe!

I love my Uggs. I know it's not really warm enough for them yet, but I'm wearing them anyway. Our office is always freezing, so if I wear ballet flats I just feel less productive b/c I'm sitting there shivering. Uggs are definitely overpriced, but I have seen some at TJMaxx and Marshall's in years past for not too much. HTH!

I bought these last night with the 20% off coupon I found from a google search! So excited. They color is less mottled in person and they look soooo cute with skinnies.

I currently own Uggs because I couldn't find Warmbats anywhere. If you have the choice, go with Warmbats, because they are better made. I have the Uggs that are covered in red sequins. They are super comfy and really warm, and I just believe that red sequins can be worn with anything.
