60's Dress Turned Winter Wardrobe

Don't forget that the giveaway will be announced tomorrow, you still have time to enter!

Was anyone else out there super happy for daylight savings to come this year?! I feel like normally I hate daylight savings, but it was SO nice not to go to work in the dark. The only problem was that it was dark by the time my husband got home and so he couldn't take a picture of my outfit in quesiton. I know, you all must be devastated.

BUT, I have been wondering for awhile how to make a certain dress I have more appropriate for winter. The very first post I ever did on the Duplex I asked if this dress looks work appropriate or like I'm going to a 60's themed dance. I decided it was work appropriate...

But now I'm trying to figure out how to make it transition into winter. I have dark gray tights I was thinking, but should I add a cardigan? What color? What kind of shoes? No tights? I feel like boots might look weird? ANY IDEAS?? As you can tell, I'm pretty lost.

Tights make any outfit perfect for the winter! At least that's my feeling! I think a cardigan would be great too! And you could always try boots or booties to make it more fall/winter appropriate! I can't wait to see what you come up with! I absolutely adore this dress!

Dark grey tights, camel or brown boots, and a cardigan (grey or mustard) would be SO CUTE. This dress is dynamite, and so flattering too.

I think the dark grey tights would look great! Boots would work too. If you were going to put a cardigan on too, I think grey or black would be good :) I love this dress!!

If you add a cardi, make it sky blue and go with the gray tights. I know sky blue isn't very fallish, but it would look perfect with the design on the bodice.

What if you put a crew neck, long sleeve tee underneath...maybe tan or white? Then I would do a pair of thick colored tights, with some sort of wedge heel (like this: http://www.ninewest.com/Cesena/8180933,default,pd.html?variantSizeClass=&variantColor=DKPURSU&cgid=2989858&prefn1=catalog-id&prefv1=ninewest-catalog). I agree, I think because of the length, boots might look weird :) A skinny belt below the embroidery might look cute too!

you could wear so many great colors with that dress! if you shorten it a tad, boots would look super cute:) i live close by you, sonoma county & i too dislike daylight savings.
