in 2004 this blazer was awesome

When I bought this blazer, I LOVED it... however, that was 7 years ago (whoa, where'd that time go?!). Does it look dated, you can be honest with me. What you can't see though are there are some cute little details on the blazer, like these little yellow, navy, and green tiny polka dotty things. Maybe that doesn't matter, let's get back to the question, is the blazer dated?

Maybe it looks less dated if I make a sassy face?

By the way, that battle ship behind me is right outside my husbands work on an abandoned navy base and I've seen it a million times, but it is just so awesome. I'm also curious, are there any interesting landmarks near your home or work?

It's actually a really cute jacket. You seem to like to dress a little more casual, but it would look nice with a black dress and heels. Or black dress pants and heels.

I think it is really cute! And I like that you haven't sequestered it to fancy land and are wearing it "casually" with pants and cute boots!
Also, when I look out my office window I see the Washington Monument, Pentagon, and Capitol Building- except some days like today when it is yuck!

not dated, I actually really like it on you!

Not dated, unless Nob Hill circa 1849 is a date...

UM... well, i'm 18, and to be honest, it looks like something you'd see in a nineties movie. just a little, itty bitty dated.

I love that blazer. I don't think it's dated at all, as long as you wear it with modern pieces like you are here. If you were wearing it with other older pieces, it would quickly date the blazer.

nah. the puff sleeves kind of date it but velvet is pretty in right now so i don't think so.

and i don't really care if something is trendy or not. it you like and it makes you feel good, then wear it.

I'd like to know, too, because I have a very similar blazer and the sleeve is a bit puffed. I wore it on Halloween this year. I keep thinking if I keep it long enough, the little "puffs" will come back?? :)

dated. definitely dated. and a little bit on the shoulders. I'd put it away. Maybe it'll come back.

a little bit *big on the shoulders.

The thing that's funny is that your headline "This is so 2004" actually persuaded me into thinking that the blazer is dated. I'm wondering without the power of suggestion if I would've just thought, "Hmm, nice blazer." Ahem, I have tons of clothes from circa 2004. Ouch.

I too think it was the fact that you said it before I saw it that made me think it was dated. Great color though and I think with those cognac colored boots you had on in another picture (the ones you asked about being "bright") and some cute skinnies would look great!

I think it's great...and the color is amazing on you. I like how you styled it with all black. It adds something interesting to the outfit. It's also great because it can be worn casual or dressed up.

I like the jacket. I'm sure there is a way to style it that would make it totally modern and awesome!

I think you should put a scarf and a black and white striped shirt with it- and it would freshen it right up. That's what I think.

I like it! That doesn't necessarily means it doesn't look outdated though...haha. Outdated is in, isn't it?

i'm not a big fan. but i'm not a big fan of blazers in the first place (just personal opinion) so take that for what you will. you look really cute though!

Honestly, I'm not loving this blazer. It kind of reminds me of a movie theater? I think this outfit would be great with a cardigan instead! Then again, I love cardigans! Maybe a scarf too. It's getting COLD over here in the bay!

I love that blazer! It looks great the way you styled it too! p.s. we often explore the old navy base in Alameda, CA and I have to say, it's one of our favorite places to walk around. So cool!

I think it's a tiny bit dated - but maybe with the right outfit it would look great! In a few years it will be vintage!

I think this is an amazing idea for a blog! Love it!
