READER SUBMISSION

Today we have Meg here from The Happy Hour!  Meg is our first dental hygienist e-roommate.  Over at her blog she occasionally gives little dental tips and I love it!  I always love getting tips from my roommates.   Besides that, she is gorgeous and has the best style and hair I've ever seen.  Here's Meg!

hello there, i'm meg from the happy hour and i need a girl(s) opinion, because my husband just isn't cutting it right now ;)

we see the chambray shirt grace us with it's presence in about every magazine, blog, pinterest, the list goes on. but do we see it at church?

that is my very question for you folks today. i know the style is all about whatever goes, goes. but, sometimes i feel at church you need to look a little better than you do on a weekday.

and so i ask the duplex, can i wear the chambray shirt to church if i dress it up with heels and a nice necklace? or do i look like justin matice on hope floats? because, pretty sure my husband and i watched that this week and he had my same jcrew shirt on. no lie. you better believe my husband was thinking in his noggin why i had to have the jcrew one when he probably got his for 9.99 at an FFA (future farmers of america).

ps. does this outfit even work?  because, sometimes what i see in my head, is not how i pictured my bum in it!

I think this outfit works even at church. It looks chic and appropriate for church since it doesn't show too much skin. :-)

I hope you get to visit my blog soon.

Much love from Mystic Nymph.

I have worn a chambray shirt to church and I think it works and I just have to say hi Meg. I'm also a blogger in So Cal.

Absolutely. I've been donning the chambray shirt at pretty much every occasion since they hit the shelves. you look adorable. do it up!

I think it definitely works for church. Almost anything can be dressed up and you've done that quite nicely with the skirt and the heals. I also really LOVE that necklace. I would unbutton the top button of your shirt though, if it still looks okay with the necklace. Or even undo the top two buttons and wear the necklace on the inside. But I'm not positive that would work. It's like you said, in my head it works, but I'd have to see it in real life to make sure it looks like what I'm thinking. =)

PS- you have GREAT hair!

The outfit is cute, and skirt, shirt and necklace look great together, but I still think it is better suited for work or a date night than church. Maybe I'm old fashioned and stuffy, but I think denim and church should not go together, no matter how cute the denim is.

I love your outfit! And it's funny because I was JUST wondering this same question on Sunday. I never wore jean skirts (when they were popular) to church because my parents said they were too casual. Or jean jackets. But like you said, if you dress it up - is it bad? I don't have an answer, but I'm glad someone else is wondering too!

Yes, this outfit works and yes, it is church appropriate. Coming from a girl who wears simple button-ups to church. As long as it's ironed and dressed up with heels, I think it's fab!

I like the outfit, except the necklace! i like the idea of a necklace, not sure that one works though.

megs can do no fashion wrong. but i'll admit denim at church is pushing the boundaries of appropriateness. you still look super hot though.

Erg, don't hate me, but I'm actually not a fan of the outfit. Maybe I'm just not a fan of the chambray shirt, since it definitely feels like Hope Floats to me, but either way, I love the necklace and the skirt and the shoes and your adorable hair, but the shirt? Nope, sorry. :(

Not a fan of the shirt...(looks a little awkward buttoned up to the neck) and definitely don't think it's for church! The rest of the outfit is adorable. But denim is casual, no matter how you look at it. Especially since I feel like we're getting more and more casual for church as it is!!

Holy moly! You are stunning. and i LOVE LOVE the outfit. I disagree with "anonymous" and "z"

Chambray is hip. You can totally wear hip things to church. You look real good.

I think it looks great for church!!! I think you dressed it up enough to wear to church...if uncomfortable throw on a blazer:)

I think the outfit is super cute and I would wear it almost anywhere but I also am one of the "no denim at church" kind of gals. It just never feels like my "Sunday Best", if you know what I mean!?! Other than that, the outfit is adorable. Going to check out your blog now ....

I think it looks great- on the west coast chambray is always appropriate! Love it mixed with this skirt. Cool look!
