Awhile ago I asked about what bra people were buying and I was surprised how a lot of people said, "I don't scrimp on this, I pay the big bucks for a great bra". It's interesting how there are certain items that as girls we decide to let loose and get the nicer one (like for me I NEVER buy the store brand ceran wrap, I hate that stuff).
Anyway, this past week I had a giftcard to Sephora and instead of buying a few different items, I spent the big bucks on one item. Being that I only wear four make-up items, I thought... 'It's free, why not?' HOLY SMOKES PEOPLE. The good stuff is expensive for a reason, it's incredible! So now in my drugstore make-up bag is this
Yves St. Laurent under-eye concealer and I'm lovin' it
.
In case you were trying to
remember what my under eyes look like:
Since this amazing awakening, I am now curious:
what is the one (or more) items that you have that you do not scrimp on? What
do you feel is worth the expensive (or expensive to you) price tag?

my jeans! I spend way too much for jeans but I always do :) worth it when I wear them almost every day
I have not treated myself to the expensive bras yet...since I don't know what I'm missing, I figured it's better that I keep it that way.
I will sometimes splurge on every-day kind of jeans and shoes that I know I'll wear a bunch.
Lip stuff.
i dont really even know, i have expensive taste in general haha. nordys and sephora make up are my go to places..well, and target too!
I splurge on Pureology shampoo and conditioner, the stuff is incredible. Plus, the conditioner is tingly--It's magical. Designer jeans, Bioelements skincare, and Jane Iredale pressed powder foundation are also serious weaknesses. I figure if I invest in the foundational things, it doesn't matter if I rock my $5 drugstore lipstick :)
Bras. The girls need some sturdy support.
NARS blush. It is fabulous!!
My husband wouldn't let me skimp on a tote. I consecutively broke 3 of them because I carry around so much stuff because I do the "take my office with me" kinda thing. He bought me a quality tote for Christmas, and it's only been 5 months, but so far so good.
skin care (better to prevent then try to fix later a la Joan Rivers), haircuts and highlights
Mascara. Lancome is amazing, although I'm on the prowl for something without any harsh scary chemicals.
I don't skimp on haircuts! I've had too many disasters and my husband has spent too many nights listening to me cry over a botched haircut. He doesn't let me skimp on them anymore either :)
Golf balls. Titleist ProV1 are worth it...
Face moisturiser... mainly because I found a brand I love (Dermalogica), and it happens to be expensive. If supermarket moisturiser was comparable, I'd buy that... but I see no point buying a cheaper, inferior product if some well spent dollars will get you a great result.
Running shoes, sports bra, and good jeans!
Daily face moisturizer - it is so worth it to pay for the good stuff. It really makes a big difference in how your skin looks and feels and then everything you put on top of it looks better!
Things I don't like to scrimp on: hair care products and most make-up, hair dryer and straightener. I have my fair share of cheap shoes, but when I'm really looking for good, solid shoes, I invest. It's worth it.
I try to be pretty frugal in general, but my biggest splurge is fancy hotels! I LOVE a turn down service, tons of fresh towels, and a nice robe.
If you run out of the YSL concealer you might want to try the Neutrogena one that looks exactly the same. It is expensive for the drugstore (like $15), but totally worth it.
I'm a huge fan of the Beauty Blender for foundation!!
Drugstore mascara and $50 concealer.
I'm with the ladies who said "haircuts." Don't get one often, but that's the beauty of it. A great cut grows out gracefully; you can't grow a bad one out fast enough. Every time my stylist goes up a level in experience, it's another $15. And I gladly pay it.
I may never go back after buying loocitane's pure Shea butter. I bought it for my expanding belly but great gads it's heaven on my lips too. And everywhere.
