Cruise Update

I know you guys are all SUPER interested in the minutia of my life.  Which is why I am going to give you a play-by-play of my cruise.  Why did I wait so long to sit on a boat and eat junk food while someone else drives me around to cool countries? I have no idea.

If you guys remember, I annoyingly asked you a million questions (here, here, here and here) as I prepared for my cruise. All of your suggestions helped SO much.  So much, in fact, that we saved all of your comments on our phones and referred to them throughout the trip.  I'm serious.

Without further adieu, I bring to you..

The Top Ten Cruise Highlights

10. Getting to your first port and realizing that vacation is just beginning..
even when you feel like it should already be over with how much fun you have already had

9. Getting a three course meal every single night
Uh...I mean getting a 3 course meal twice every night.  One at 5 pm and one at 8 pm....whoops?

8.  Finding the perfect place for rock jumping in Cozumel, Mexico

7. Exploring the Mayan Ruins

6. Land Rover-ing through the Jungle

5.  Observing this little kid for 5 hours in Honduras

 4.  Partying (with water) all night every night
We went to a show every night and a dance party every night. This party face is dedicated to Kat.

3. Caving in Belize

2. Eating enough calories to last me 7 years

1. And last but CERTAINLY not least...
The amazingly awkward professional cruise photographs
Because I've always wondered what Rhett and I would look like if we had gone to prom together...

And one thing I wouldn't mind changing....

Although it doesn't look like I am moving in this picture below..I sure felt like I was.
At our last port we felt so strange! We couldn't stand still or walk straight.

Holy moly.  No one warned me that after 7 days on a cruise ship I would feel like I am still moving for 3-4 days. Which resulted in me falling over in the Sam's Club parking lot as I tried to transport some groceries from the shopping cart to our car.  At least I gave those folks in the parking lot a good show..as I fumbled around on the asphalt and tried to stand back up.

Has anyone else experienced Mal de Debarquement Syndrome after a cruise?

I had no idea this was even a real thing!

Notwithstanding my receding hairline, you have to admit my forehead looks incredibly large on the left half of the #1 photo.

Which punch bowl have you been drinking out of? Map de debarquement is what those Saturday night checkpoints in East Knoxville are looking for...

Makes me want to go on another cruise!

And also, I've seen a million people wear those straw fedora hats, but never liked how they looked. On you? I LOVE. Now I NEED one for my summer vacations. Where did you get it?? My husband is going to hate me.

Great photos! Cruise vacations are so much fun.

LOL - the "professional" cruise photographers. We took some pictures just one night (they're so pushy) and they were the most hilarious poses ever. Totally awkward :)

You look like you had so much fun! I went caving once and it was AMAZING - I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did :) Love those awkward pics.

I went a cruise when I was younger, and actually ended up fainting from that very syndrome. I tried to run in PE class (yeah, I was still in elementary school) and fainted twice from it. Not good! Hopefully you're recovering ok :)

I went snorkeling for 1 day in Aruba and I was swaying for three days after just that! I cant imagine a whole week out on the water. Barf.

It looks like you had a blast! And I'm pretty sure I was on the exact same ship (twice).

I didn't really have too much of a problem when I got back. Except for sickness due to the "real Mexican food" we had in Cozumel. After living with some people in Mexico for a few weeks, I know that stuff was NOT the real thing.

I'm glad you had so much fun! Aren't cruises the best?
