Polka King of the Midwest

If you know what movie I am referring to in my blog title, you are my new best friend.  It's not the first time I have referred to this movie on the Duplex.  In fact, it's not even the second time I've referred to this movie.  I am always quoting this movie.  Anybody know it?  Well, click here if you want a really big clue.

I've told you guys before that polka dots make me really happy.  I've also told you guys that I have an embarrassingly large quantity of polka dot items in my wardrobe.

The probability of grabbing both a polka dot top and a polka dot bottom, when I reach into my closet, is quite high.

And today the probability of choosing two polka dot items proved to be possible..

But, am I allowed to wear a polka dot top with a polka dot bottom?

What if I put a sweater on over some of the polka dots?

I am pretty sure that I'm saying.. "Rhett, you're so close to my face. Back up."  in this picture

Yeah? Nah?
Should I give up being the Polka King?

I say yes, definitely. But I particularly love it when you pair it with the solid sweater. I think it anchors the outfit.

I think it's a lovely outfit, particularly with the cardigan :) The polka dots on your shirt work because they are much more subtle so it isn't too OTT polka! :)

I wouldn't add the sweater...looks more fun and young without the sweater.

Home Alone....that and the play clothes bin apparently led to great fashion sense. Chickee's favorite movie is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, another life shaping epic from the John Candy genre.

I think this really really works. The skirt is more black and therefore amore basic polkadot piece while the top adds some colour :) x

I knew where this quote came from the minute I saw the blog title--Polka, polka, polka, polka! LOL I love Home Alone! I also love the double polka dots! Very chic! I think it is perfectly acceptable, especially because of their size difference!

yes but no sweater. I didn't even hardly notice the small white dots

I think it works because they're different sizes and colors. Pretty cute, actually!

Yes yes yes yes yes. :) The different scale of the polka dots works! Plus the common color white polka dot. And the pop of color with the yellow! Adorbs!

Also, I pretty much tell my photographer (aka my mom) every single day to back away from my face hahaha.

I love it! The polka dots on the top are super subtle so you don't look like an optical illusion! I love the black, blue, and yellow together....good outfit :)

Oh, and also, I aim to quote Home Alone at least once a day, so I'm with you on the Polka King. ;)

I'm not sure it should always be done but it looks great here! I love the colors and I love the small polka dots with the large polka dots. So cute! :]

Love me some Home Alone and these polka dots ;)

I think it is totally fine...especially because the polka dots in the shirt are tons smaller than the ones in the skirt.

I kind of really love this.

I think because the scale of the polka dots is different. I also love the colour of that top, I covet it every time you wear it on the blog! If anything, I would say go with a different belt - it is a little .... I don't know. But the outfit, cardigan or no cardigan, is great!

i love it! And the sweater ties it together. P.S. the most used quote in our house from said movie is "FULLER! Go easy on the Pepsi!" ;)

I think polka on polka works well & better without the cardi !

I love it- the scale of the dots is different enough that it works, and I love the added sweater (yellow and blue together are one of my favorite color combos!).
ps- Love Home Alone! :)

Adorable!! I like it with the cardi :)

Yep, I like the look. It works because the top doesn't have bold polka dots like the skirt. Great combo and the cardigan makes it all pop:)

I love this! The colors are great, and the smaller polka dots with the larger ones make it work.

The polka dots in the shirt are more subtle that it works. Plus the colour combos just make it all work. You look very cute.
